Oh my gosh, it is so hard to find a simple video of who the Slavs were! I’m covering Eastern Europe in Geography and just wanted something quick to give the students a basic idea of where Slavic people came from. That’s harder than I thought! After watching multiple videos that gave way too much depth for my needs, I found this video. She talks a little slowly, so I bumped the speed up to 1.25x on the video, and it actually sounds more natural at that rate.
Side note: In class, I tend to keep my in-class videos to a length of five minutes or less. My students have a hard time focusing for longer than that. I think their tolerance for videos at home is a little longer, because when they do stuff at home, they’ve probably had mental break, can move around more, etc. It also depends on the student. (You can show multiple videos that total more than five minutes, but always stop after each video and discuss.)
If homeschooling, have a set of questions for your student to answer. My philosophy for home use is, watch it once without writing anything down. After the video, see if you can answer the questions. Go back and watch it again to find any answers you missed and to review what you’ve learned. (Since these videos are short, that’s not a hard ask.)
